Bologna Rock (2 April 1979) was the event capable of gathering more than 6000 people at the Palasport for the performance of 10 groups, unknown or almost, and can be considered the symbol of a season on which to build a more thorough investigation, for the cultural implications, the influence and the socio-political role that had Bologna between 1975 and 1985 in the history of Italian culture, but not only.
The exhibition, open until September 29, 2019 at the MamBo, presents itself as a historical reinterpretation, an anthropological re-appropriation capable of highlighting those characteristic elements that have contributed to the birth and growth of that season, to look at the future, to reconfigure and stimulate new algorithms for the development of the city by proposing an ambitious and entropic project that continuously looks at “alternative” cultures as the center and lifeblood of its growth.
The exhibition is curated by Oderso Rubini and Anna Persiani.
