Inauguration on Saturday 16 November 2019 at 5.30 pm at the Lercaro Collection.
The exhibition Ettore Frani. The painter’s homes present seventeen unpublished paintings that are part of the cycle of works created in the last two years of research which, still in progress, shows, in this first phase, mainly works made in 2017 and reworked over time.
The theme is that of the inner self-portrait – ideally summarized in the title “The painter’s dwellings” – and develops one of the central points of Frani’s poetics: the practice of painting as a place of authentic and profound spiritual experience.
The work and its progression become, for the artist, an opportunity to explore one’s own interiority and a privileged moment of experience of the invisible
The presence of the infinite is sought, by Frani, in the objects that animate his daily life – a table, a pencil, brushes, a jar of turpentine, a tablecloth, the ash or the vision of a starry sky – and returned through the metamorphosis brought about by his eyes and his hands.
The exhibition will then be collected in an ebook that will follow all the phases of the research documenting the work done in its future.
The exhibition will be visible until April 26th 2020.
