From the 4th to the 13th of April there will be the Live Arts Week, reached this year at the eighth edition.
Galleries, open spaces and unexplored places throughout the Emilian capital.
There are several appointments in the national premiere that pay particular attention to the art of the body, understood in a broad sense.
It starts with the P420 gallery where the Amsterdam-based Italian choreographer Michele Rizzo presents Spacewalk, a work in which two performers investigate the concept of space, and Prospect which extends the field of investigation onto the music of Billy Bultheel, former collaborator of William Forsythe involving around twenty interpreters.
Inspired by the VI Eclogue by Virgil and designed to develop over three nights, From The Dead Air Orgy: The Song Silenus by Londoner Simon Vincenzi will inhabit the rooms of Palazzo Pezzoli through an obscure path played, thanks to the sounds of Will Saunders and the actions of Kath Duggon, between cosmology and the evocation of the figure of Silenus, mythical companion of Dionysus.
Co-produced by the festival, she debuted at the Salone degli Incamminati in the Pinacoteca di Bologna GHOST of the Veronese Barokthegreat, aka the choreographer Sonia Brunelli and the musician Leila Gharib.
For the first time in Italy, the Iranian-born artist Sorour Darabi comes from Paris to present the only Farci.e at the Bologna Academy of Fine Arts. Baptized in Montepellier Danse 2016, the work well received by critics questions gender issues through metalinguistic encounters / clashes that the body returns in a dialectical way.
Finally in the underground yard of the Modernissimo Cinema, an area under renovation and recovery next to the central Piazza Maggiore, the Brazilian Marcelo Evelin with his company Demolition Incorporada presents in European premiere The Invention of Evilness / A Invenção da Maldade. Active between the native city of Teresina in the Brazilian state of Piauí and the European city of Amsterdam, Evelin in his latest show questions the origin of evil embodied by six performers intent on experiencing the sounds of Sho Takiguchi.
