The exhibition is visible until January 27, 2019.
100 years after the end of the First World War, the exhibition intends to present the results of the La Grande Guerra project in Bologna between History and Memory, realized thanks to the contribution of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers: the implementation of the portal www.storiaememoriadibologna.it, aimed at creating and making accessible to all web users a collective, citizen and national memory on the events related to the First World War, with particular reference to the memory of the fallen Bolognese.
Inside the exhibition, it will be possible to explore the 3D model of the Lapidarium of the Basilica of Santo Stefano, as it appeared in the inauguration year (1925), with 64 gravestones placed inside the cloister bearing the names of the 2,536 fallen Municipality of Bologna.
Then there are original documents and relics related to the city of Bologna, normally not visible to the public, that the implementation of the portal has allowed to know and contextualize, reproducing the images and telling the story: posters of propaganda of national loans, recently restored ; photographs of war coming from public and private archives, and the many portraits of the fallen during the works.
