The exhibition, curated by Graziano Campanini and Riccardo Betti, is dedicated to Jean François Migno.
The main nucleus of the exhibition is located in the Lapidarium room and then expands within the exhibition where Migno’s canvases dot the space as devices that capture the viewer’s gaze in a game of quivering chromatic vibrations.
The whole story of the artist, marked by a continuous experimentation on different media and materials that rejects a full and concrete definition of the substance in favor of an abstraction with a figurative aspect, is retraced through a selection of about 40 works, including the main cycles of its production.
They testify to a practice of painting lived as a totalizing confrontation with the canvas, a frontal body – physical, emotional, intellectual – in which the gesture explores new formal and expressive possibilities of materials and coloristic encounters in convulsive spatial scores cadenced by white spaces.
