Tuesday, February 19, the sky gives us, for the second time in 2019, the phenomenon of the Superluna.
The term “Superluna” refers generally to that astronomical event that occurs when the moon reaches its maximum proximity to the earth which, in today’s day, will be 356,761 kilometers.
This causes the moon to appear to our eyes bigger and brighter. It will be possible to observe the phenomenon between 17.20 and 18.
For those who do not have the opportunity to observe the moon in an open space, a live stream will be available on the Virtual Telescope Project starting at 5.30 pm, commented by the astrophysicist Gianluca Masi.
Where to see the Superluna in Bologna:
San Luca is probably one of the best known places, but there are many other open spaces in which to watch the show.
The park of the gardens in via dell’Arcoveggio.
The park of Villa Spada, one of the busiest in the city.
The Colle di Barbiano, situated in a panoramic and secluded position despite being very close to the center of Bologna.
The park of San Michele in the woods.
