Dwelling of kings and princes, theater of passions and wars, the castle evokes fantasies like few other places.
This is why October 7th will be a special day. On Sunday, in fact, 40 manors of Emilia Romagna will ideally descend their drawbridge to reveal to the visitors mysteries and secrets centuries old. The initiative, which is called ‘Oh what a beautiful castle’, provides a rich program: guided tours in period costume, animated fairy tales, tastings, cocktails in the towers, stories of the castellani. And obviously there will be no lack of activities designed for children.
The cost of tickets? From 1 to 20 euros depending on whether it is a guided tour or a real event with a final dinner. Moreover, some events are completely free (info on www.castelliemiliaromagna.it and www.castellidelducato.it).
‘Oh che bel castello’ is an initiative of the Emilia-Romagna Region, APT Servizi and Tourist Destinations of Emilia Romagna, with the collaboration of the Association of Castles of the Duchy of Parma, Piacenza and Pontremoli. “A nice step in the construction of the Castelli dell’Emilia Romagna network”, commented the Regional Tourism Councilor, Andrea Corsini.
