Known for its towers and its long arcades, Bologna also has a great artistic history.
To confirm this, the city has one of the most extensive historic centers in Italy that includes among the most beautiful works of our country.
Among these one certainly appears one of the most fascinating buildings in the city, namely, Palazzo Hercolani.
In 1793 the Bolognese architect Angelo Venturoli started the construction of a sumptuous residence for the princely branch of the Hercolani family in Strada Maggiore 45 which ended in the early 19th century.
This place, full of charm absolutely to visit, was born as the residence of the Hercolani family and today is the seat of the Faculty of Political Science.
Palazzo Hercolani preserves among its walls a unique beauty, due to the works of infinite beauty such as, the sculptural ones that represent the apotheosis of Hercules, but also frescoes.
Particularly striking on the ground floor is the Boschereccia painted in 1810 by R. Fantuzzi in a room with curved walls that is a prelude to the magnificent winter garden by Martinelli.
