#novecento is the review of musical narratives in which musicians in first person tell their art, inspired by the musical anniversaries of the year.
A journey will be made to discover the music of the past century. Until December 22nd 2019.
In Room 7 of the Museum, until November 3, Leggero will be found, the virtual reality installation dedicated to the unforgettable Skiantos leader Roberto “Freak” Antoni.
1969 is indeed a crucial year for music not only for Woodstock, but also for the debut of various groups that have entered the collective imagination: King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Crosby, Stills and Nash, as well as for the birth of the rock opera with Tommy of the Who and Miles Davis’ electric breakthrough.
Ten years later the climate – musical and otherwise – has changed a lot: in the two-year period 78-79 Italy, tired of the “commitment” and satiated with politics, discovers the pleasure of disco dancing and rushes en masse to the great concerts in the halls and in the stadiums, starting from the triumphal tours of De André with the PFM and of Dalla and De Gregori.
Following the now classic appointments with the musical narratives of Jazz Insight: five protagonists of American music told from within, that is from the perspective of a jazz musician Emiliano Pintori in the company of the piano and his surprise “guests”.
Union between rock and jazz, the documentaries on musicians of the 12th edition of Voices from the Beyond that, after the prologue of Wednesday 23 November at the Teatro S. Leonardo dedicated to Jaco Pastorius, moves to the museum for the projections of two real musicians “fighters “: Joni Mitchell and Rahsaan Roland Kirk.
But the autumn will also be dedicated to the contemporary “unprecedented” of ultimamusica and to the Museo (ri) Suona, the new experimental project in which we will invite musicians and singers to design three special sonatas visits in the exhibition halls, with period pieces and original soundtracks inspired by their “residence” in the museum.
