From 29 to 1 December ILLUMINOTRONICA, the professional fair that this year moved to Bologna and also evolves in content, becoming the most important event in Italy for “smart” technologies and systems of light, home automation and security.
The Internet of Things (often abbreviated as IoT and translatable into Italian as the “Internet of Things”) is one of the most important technological trends of the moment. The term IoT refers to all those technologies that make it possible to transform any object – from the thermostat to television, from the refrigerator to the car – into a device connected to the Internet. These objects (called “Smart”) can be controlled and monitored even remotely or via voice-activated systems. Moreover, thanks to sensors and tags, they can relate to each other, adapting to the environment in which they are located and to the needs (light bulbs that turn into cameras and emit music, voice control systems to manage the house).
Through conferences, seminars, demo areas and practical exercises, ILLUMINOTRONICA wants to show the positive impact of new technologies on life, whether we are talking about correct lighting, people’s wellbeing or energy saving.
FROM SMART HOME TO SMART CITY
At Pavilion 19 of BolognaFiere we will be able to explore the different scenarios of the house of the future, a connected home thanks to progress made by home automation and IoT technologies. But digital transformation is not just about houses and buildings: cities are also becoming more connected, and Smart City projects are on the agenda of Local Administrations.
Pedestrian stripes and smart streetlights that detect movement, innovative systems to manage traffic and parking, tools for informing or giving alert communications to citizens in real time are just some examples of the application of IoT technologies for cities and urban spaces.
On this theme, at the fair there will be in-depth conferences, success stories and the Ecohitech Award: recognition to the most virtuous Italian Smart Cities for eco-compatibility and energy saving, which this year will see a special assignment to some Municipalities of the Emilia territory.
INSTALLATIONS AND DEMO AREAS
In addition to the exhibition area and the rich program of conferences, at ILLUMINOTRONICA there will be installations and demo areas to see how the new technologies are applied and how they work. Among those not to be missed, we mention “Near Zero Energy Building (NZEB): the house of the future” (the installation of an energy self-sufficient house thanks to a series of integrated technologies) and “Digital Retail Experience: the store of the future” (a interactive store, where technology transforms the shopping experience, giving life to immersive and engaging environments).
Finally, there will also be a start-up area, with the most innovative youngsters from the Emilia-Romagna region (and more): here we will see Jarvis by Ioota, a virtual butler, A-System, an invisible switch and then Hooro, a system designed to collect data on store purchase preferences.
The appointment with technology is therefore at ILLUMINOTRONICA – at BolognaFiere from 29 November to 1 December.
Participation in the event is free after registration.
