The first initiatives linked to the collaboration pact tightened by Fondazione Lucio Dalla and the Municipality of Bologna to promote the figure of Lucio Dalla as a common good.
This is an articulated project that will open in January 2019 with the appointments of “Friday we meet at Lucio”, a calendar of guided tours realized thanks to the technical-operational collaboration of Bologna Welcome, which will open to the public on a weekly basis, the house of the artist in via D’Azeglio. Visitors who from 9 December will book the online visit on the Bologna Welcome site or on the Foundation’s one, will have access to the world of Lucio and to the rooms that express the many facets of his irrepressible personality.
“I thank the Lucio Dalla Foundation for their willingness to collaborate in the promotion, through Lucio, of our city, its beauty and its history – says the Councilor for Culture and Promotion of the city Matteo Lepore – Today we inaugurate a cultural project that will see us work together to strengthen the role of Bologna Creative City of Unesco Music. We will do this by collaborating in the realization of important initiatives such as the celebration of March 4 which this year will have as its nerve center the Municipal Theater and dedicating its commitment to the enhancement of young artists thanks to the Labo-contest videoclip project, created by the Foundation with the newborn Music Office of the Common.”
This is the meaning of the collaboration pact that puts Lucio Dalla at the center as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for cultural activities and initiatives aimed at young people, without neglecting the attention that this great artist has always had for the social. Since January, the artist’s home, a place deeply loved by him and fascinating path between his innumerable passions, his interests and his curiosities will not only be open to the public for visits, but also more and more vital place, forge of ideas and incubator of creativity. The new course starts from the project “Labo-contest videoclip” that will open the rooms of Via D’Azeglio to young videomakers, for an artistic residency that will lead to the creation of the video clip of a piece by Lucio Dalla.
Finally, it is worth remembering that on March 4th of this year it will be a special anniversary: 40 years ago “Lucio Dalla” was released, one of the most beautiful and significant albums by the artist, for this important anniversary that coincides with the birthday of the artist, a special event will be organized at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. An opportunity to remember also the fruitful collaboration between the Bolognese singer-songwriter and the Comunale, which in the past has given life to performances such as “Pierino e il Lupo” by Sergej Prokof’ev of 2005, the diptych with “Pulcinella” by Igor Stravinsky and with “Arlecchino” by Ferruccio Busoni in 2007 and “The Beggar’s Opera” by John Gay in 2008.
