Restored to the refinement of its original chromatic values after a complex and delicate restoration, Lavinia Fontana’s painting “Judith with the Head of Holofernes” will return to the Museo Civico d’Arte Industriale e Galleria Davia Bargellini in Bologna from 5 to 12 April 2023, as a preview of the major solo exhibition “Lavinia Fontana: Trailblazer, Rule Breaker” that the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin will dedicate to the famous Bolognese artist from 6 May to 27 August 2023.
With this exhibition, the Musei Civici d’Arte Antica Settore Musei Civici Bologna intends to present to the city’s public the excellent results obtained from the conservation intervention carried out by the Restauration Laboratory Ottorino Nonfarmale S.r.l. and to say goodbye to the work before the functional phases of its transfer to Ireland begin, starting on 13 April.
