Bologna has always been a fascinating destination for foreign travellers in Italy.
Over the centuries, numerous intellectuals and artists have left evidence of their impressions in travel diaries, notebooks and notes.
Today, these documents are a valuable resource for understanding both the development and changes of the city and the perception of it over the centuries.
A selection of texts significant for the development of the literary and cultural image of the city of Bologna, preserved in the University Library of Bologna, has been used to create the exhibition.
