The basketball museum, in Bologna, indeed, in the heart of the city, at PalaDozza, in twelve months.
Today, in the Tassinari room of the Palazzo d’Accursio, the first words are why, in order to arrive at the museum, it will be necessary to move on from a competition of ideas.
Starting yesterday, the call for tenders will close on April 8th. The competition will be used to further enhance the PalaDozza product, “because we would like to keep it open seven days a week”, says Councilor for Sports of the Municipality Matteo Lepore.
Together with the landlord there are the number one of the federbasket, Giovanni Petrucci and the president of Bologna Welcome, Celso De Scrilli. “It’s a dream come true”, continues the city councilor for sport, while Petrucci emphasizes that there could not be a better place than Bologna and PalaDozza. “Ready to play our part – explains Petrucci – and very happy that the choice fell on this city, which lives on basketball”.
At De Scrilli the technical aspects are touched. «Bologna finally returns to live one of the houses of sport and city music, in the heart of the city – continues De Scrilli – with an important redevelopment project. We are very proud of this initiative, especially the Basketball Museum, which adds a significant element to the city’s tourist offer, enhancing its great sporting tradition ».
Waiting for the first contributions of ideas – the museum should be inaugurated in a year and will find space inside the PalaDozza – there is already a trend line. The councilor Lepore and Bologna Welcome, who runs the plant, were in Barcelona to take the measures of the Barça museum. And from Catalonia, which boasts unattainable numbers, at least for now, for Bologna, other ideas and suggestions will come.
