The University of Bologna preserves works of art and testimonies of a millennia-old history in its residences, only partially visible to the public.
After careful restoration and research, some of the most ancient and precious objects dating back to the Renaissance are now on display in the frame of the Palazzo Poggi Museum.
One, the portrait of Giovanni II Bentivoglio, is acquired at the Museo di Palazzo Poggi; the others – the tapestries of Brussels – are exhibited on a temporary basis, testifying to an extraordinary story between a sophisticated manufacture, the fortunate American adventure of an Italian emigrant and Italy of Reconstruction.
Hours: Tuesday to Friday 10.00am – 4.00pm; Saturday, Sunday and holidays 10.00am – 6.00pm
Closed on Monday + 24 – 25 December and 1 January.
The exhibition, which will end on February 3, can be visited with the admission ticket to the Museum (full € 5, reduced € 3).
