The seventh edition of ART CITY Bologna, the institutional program of exhibitions, events and special initiatives promoted by the Municipality of Bologna in collaboration with BolognaFiere on the occasion of Arte Fiera takes place from 1 to 3 February 2019.
The main novelty of this edition is the longer duration.
ART WEEK
The core of the three days of the weekend is in fact expanding in a real art week that, starting from 25 January, draws a calendar of approach to the opening of Arte Fiera scheduled for 1 February.
The format tested last year is confirmed, with a main program divided into a special event and a series of monographic curatorial projects – including exhibitions, installations and performances – that present the most varied expressions of contemporary artistic practices.
ART CITY Bologna also provides the ART CITY Report section, which includes over 100 events: a rich schedule of appointments proposed by cultural operators of the city, including public and private institutions, modern and contemporary art galleries, artist run space, spaces non-profit and unconventional places.
The ART CITY Cinema section returns to explore the many possible connections between art and cinema, with the programming of film screenings at the Cinema Lumière by the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna.
ART CITY WHITE NIGHT
Finally, one of the most awaited events will not be missed with the ART CITY White Night: Saturday 2 February special opening up to 24 hours in many locations of the ART CITY Bologna circuit, as well as in galleries, independent exhibition spaces, historic buildings and shops.
