Every week the Civic Museums of Bologna offer a rich calendar of events, to reveal their collections and tell about new and curious aspects and episodes of the history of the city, also through different points of view and unusual combinations between the different collections.
Here are the events scheduled from Friday 13th to Thursday 19th September.
We inform that from September 15th at the Museum of Industrial Heritage the exhibition “Professional training, female work and industry in Bologna: 1946-1970” reopens, which will remain visible until November 17th.
Friday, September 13th
5pm: Municipal Art Collections, Palazzo d’Accursio – Piazza Maggiore 6
“Alessandro Guardassoni (1819-1888). A Bolognese painter between Romanticism and devotion “
Inauguration of the exhibition. To follow, at 6.15 pm, inauguration of the exhibition at the Gualandi Foundation in favor of the deaf (via Nosadella 49) and finally, at 7.15 pm, visit to the church of Santa Cristina (via Saragozza 61).
On the occasion of the bicentenary of the artist’s birth, the city of Bologna pays tribute with an extensive program of initiatives to Alessandro Guardassoni (1819-1888), one of the most interesting personalities that emerged from the 19th century pictorial school of painting, to which we owe an original path of renewal of figurative languages.

Calendar “ANIMENUDE. Theatrical walks in the Charterhouse ” Reflections on the transience of life in the classics of Italian literature. Stories of a humanity that finds itself naked and fragile in the face of death. “The recovery of the ancient Madonnas. A never interrupted devotional story ”
Discovering the votive images detached from the Churches of Bologna and collected in the fourteenth-century cloister of San Girolamo della Certosa. The detachment of the frescoes: a centuries-old history of technique and passion. Evolution, second thoughts, methods and conservative problems.

“Jews and silk in Bologna. Centuries XIV-XVI ” On the occasion of the Day of Jewish Culture, the museum opens extraordinarily from 10am to 6.30pm.

“Guided tour of the Museum for the Memory of Ustica”
A visit to the place that the French artist Christian Boltanski created for the city in memory of the victims of the tragedy of Ustica. An opportunity to reflect on the memory and identity of each of us, retracing the events of our contemporary history.

“Notes from the Beyond. The roots of memory ” Two different events on the same evening.
At 9 pm, accompanied by actress Francesca Tranchida and musicologist Maria Chiara Mazzi, we will discover a city of theaters, music, operas and wars. At 21.30, following the environmental historian Francesco Nigro, we will discover that the plants that adorn the avenues are alive, while the monuments tell us other stories. “Professional training, women’s work and industry in Bologna: 1946-1970”

The exhibition, conceived and produced by the Industrial Heritage Museum and the Women’s Union in Italy (Bologna office ) in collaboration with the Fondazione del Monte di Bologna and Ravenna and the International Labor Organization (ILO) – Office for Italy and San Marino, is the first appointment of a three-year project promoted by the Museum of Industrial Heritage and by the Women Union in Italy of Bologna dedicated to the theme “Work, training and female technical culture”.

“Think of free. Bologna Rock 1979” , until September 29th 2019
The MAMbo Project Room continues its exhibition activity with “Think yourself free. Bologna Rock 1979”, an exhibition dedicated to the musical event that gathered more than six thousand people at the Palasport in Bologna April 2, 1979.
“Bologna Rock” can be considered the symbol of a season that is not exclusively musical but also social, cultural, political, which has left its mark on the history of the city and of all of Italy, on which the exhibition focus, edited by Oderso Rubini and Anna Persiani, he wants to build a thorough investigation.
