From February 28 to April 28 at the Ono Contemporary Art, in Bologna, Via Santa Margherita, 10.
It is called “Marilyn Monroe & The Misfits” and it is the exhibition that tells through the photographs and the memory of Ernst Haas, an accredited stage photographer, behind the scenes of one of the most important films of the second half of the last century, Gli spostati.
The inauguration will be held on Thursday 28 February at 6.30 pm and the photo exhibition is free admission.
The 30 shots by Dennis Hopper retraces the photographic work of one of the most beloved and controversial actors in the history of cinema.
Dennis Hopper, Photography, has been one of the symbols of hippie culture and of the American counter-culture, as well as being a prolific and multifaceted artist. Hopper made his debut with James Dean in Burnt Youth, but he is with Easy Rider, of which he was also a director, who became a world icon of youth rebellion.
Hopper’s peculiarity was to also use very cheap machines and to develop the films with the non-professional tools that were found in drugstores where he often stopped when he was on the road, maybe passing through to get to Kansas where he was born. Hopper’s photographs recount his America in an attempt to capture the socio-cultural changes of a frontier country by showing us landscapes and characters as in a film never filmed.
