The Civic Museums of Ancient Art of Bologna’s Civic Museums Sector are pleased to present, in the premises of the Civic Museum of Industrial Art and Davia Bargellini Gallery, Pegah Pasyar’s solo exhibition entitled Mnemosine, curated by Marco Baldassari.
On view from 25 January to 11 February 2024, the exhibition project opens on Wednesday 24 January at 5.30 p.m. as part of the twelfth edition of ART CITY Bologna, the institutional programme of exhibitions, events and special initiatives promoted by the Municipality of Bologna in collaboration with BolognaFiere on the occasion of Arte Fiera.
The nine new sculptures that the Iranian artist is presenting on this occasion – six of them in terracotta and mixed media and three in metal, all sharing the same title Mnemosyne – bring the inner gaze back to Memory and Remembrance, to a moment where torment and happiness coexist.
Pegah Pasyar’s work starts from the creative tradition that looks back to ancient techniques, such as the Persian miniature, which she practised for over 10 years in Iran, and to the creation of jewellery, with a manual skill that finds inspiration in small formats.
