The exhibition, set up at the Civic Museum of Industrial Art and the Davia Bargellini Gallery, will be open from December 4, 2019 to January 19, 2020, with inauguration Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 17.30.
For the 2019-2020 festivities the exhibition offers the public the opportunity to admire for the first time some extraordinary pieces, real masterpieces of the Neapolitan crib art of the eighteenth century, from the famous Bordoni Collection of Bologna, which Eugenio Riccòmini has defined "perhaps the richest and most complex collection of Neapolitan cribs that is not in the shadow of Vesuvius" made up of over one hundred people from Naples of the first Bourbons, two hundred and more if the animals that surround them are also calculated.
To confirm the extremely high quality, in keeping with which this collection was assembled by the lawyer Gianfranco Bordoni over more than fifty years, it must be said that some of the most representative pieces come from well-known collections, such as that of the tenor Enrico Caruso.
The exhibition allows you to learn more about the characteristics of the Neapolitan crib tradition, its technical specifications, the types of its "figurants", the identities of its most skilled craftsmen, such as Salvatore Franco, Lorenzo Mosca, Orazio Schettino, Nicola Somma, Angelo Viva and the animalists Francesco Gallo, Nicola and Saverio Vassallo.
