From 18 March to 19 May, Mondo Infoshop will be hosting the exhibition Città (City), which tells the story of a city’s everyday life as observed during a train journey by Sara Bernardi.
The speed of the train allows nothing more than a furtive glance at large parts of the city, but this does not deny her the opportunity to observe for brief moments various details that stand out in the city that is apparently always the same, such as a building full of plants and architectural details, an old shed, a dog waiting for someone to look out of the window, a person hugging his cat, another who has his gaze lost in the void and much more.
The illustrations try to represent these quick images that remain so suspended in time and in the mind, leaving you to imagine what could happen. The illustrations are made with the art print of linoleum carving and embellished with watercolour, techniques that give colour and warmth, trying to give new life to moments now passed.
